Puppy socialization classes are a controlled way to expose your puppy to different people, dogs and environmental stimuli. Studies have shown that dogs that do not attend puppy socialization classes were more likely to display behavior problems involving fear or aggression. Attending puppy socialization class is the single most important thing you can do for your dog in his lifetime.

The Retreat at Cottonwood offers a structured preschool class that consists of playtime, environmental stimuli, basic puppy manner training and puppy parenting advice.

Playtime: Our controlled off leash playtime sessions gives your puppy the opportunity to interact with other puppies in a secure environment.

Environmental Stimuli: Exposure to novel environments, people, objects, surfaces and sounds in a fun and positive manner.

Basic Puppy Manners: Training to address common puppy problems such as biting, jumping, chewing, stealing objects, food bowl safety and house training.

Puppy Parenting Tips: Education on normal canine body language and how to train your puppy to sit, stay, down, etc.
